Stewart has been photographing in Glasgow for over twenty years, and has contributed to a number of photographic exhibitions in the city. Over sixty of his photographs of contemporary Glasgow can be found in the book Vanishing Glasgow (Aberdeen University Library, 1991, £12.95)

Some days my home city of Glasgow just seems too strange for words. As I walk round the streets its rather like visiting a parallel universe, or perhaps another planet. Is it the city or is it me? A bit of both, I’d say.
