Keith is a graduate of the Royal College of Art. He uses digital photography and traditional oil-painting techniques to create images which express his deepest feelings about people in the Sutherland landscape.

These six purely photographic images are Keith's personal selection of portraits of artists from the Visual Arts Sutherland group. The images were made for the individual artists' promotional use. Twenty-six artists were photographed from all parts of Sutherland and the five-month project was completed in February 2006. Unlike the majority of Keith's creative work, the portraits were not intended to be used as stimuli for painted images.

Available light and a Canon Powershot Pro 1 provided the digitally-captured images, which were manipulated using 'The Gimp' open-source software, on a Linux-driven computer.
